6

My oldest turned six today and it is really hard to remember the tiny baby he was, not that long ago. Hard to believe that he is getting closer to 10 now, and further from 1. My sweet, cautious one, who wouldn't walk until he was completely sure he wouldn't fall, who rubs his baby sister's head constantly because it is "sooo soft!". After opening his microscope today, he was so excited to view his slides and discover/examine/observe.

Scrunch face baby girl has stopped her nose breathing-bunny twitching face for the most part, but will pull it out every once in awhile if I do the scrunch face nose breathing beside her. She is the calm to our crazy, the constant to her brother's perpetual motion, and she is adored by every person in our family.

J said tonight how happy our family makes him. That was so nice to hear, with all the insanity that often surrounds us, it was refreshing to hear him say that he loves us (and in turn, the cray cray).

Glimpses

Tbone was asked to make valentines for his class:
"Momma, I can't sell Diego his valentine yet, he isn't here this week, but everyone else, I can sell them theirs."

Drewbs runs around the house with a Spiderman mask on, inside out and backwards, and screams "Captain America for the world!"

Easy E is truly the easiest baby on the planet. She smiles her gummy grins, looks around a bit to watch the crazy, then smiles a little more.

Buddance will be SIX ENTIRE YEARS OLD in less than a week. MAH BAYBEEE. He is becoming a sweetheart of a kid and loves to rub his sister's head, work on his complicated (seriously, don't they know parents don't have time to figure this shit out?) Transformers, and ride his bike all over the neighborhood.

8 months

Littlest one started babbling with a purpose today. J had a drink at dinner and darn if that youngin' didn't look at J, break into an enormous grin, shake with delight, and boisterously say "ba ba ba". J looked back: "Bottle?" "Ba Ba Ba" came the response. We were so thrilled.

The child got teeth at four months, had 8 choppers by the time he was six months old, started crawling around six months, pulling up on things a few weeks later, and now will do the famous baby wobble walk if you hold his hands. How is this even possible? His life is on fast forward, it has to be. Not to mention, this boy is so, so proud of himself with every advancement he makes. Keeping up with his brothers is not going to be a problem if he keeps learning this quickly. He'll be passing them in a few years if they aren't careful.

Tata will be three in just a couple short weeks, and he is trying hard to be a big boy, while remaining the baby in the family. Yes, my sweet little middle child, you are so confused right now, but we love you no matter what.

Buddance continues to tell me, on pretty much a daily basis; (whisper voice) "Momma, I'm not tired, can I stay up during my nap?" And I let him, and then most days he is wanting to pass out on the couch at 5 pm. Not tired? Riiiiiight. Me either, kid. Me either.

Hot Hot Hooooot

Wow. This summer is a doozy, on Thursday it was 105, but with the lovely heat index it reached a balmy 120. Let's just say the boys have been bouncing off THE WALLS because they have been cooped up inside for several days. Oh, and our AC broke tonight. Lovely.

The green stuff

Matty, who won't touch an avocado with a 10 foot pole, is head over heels about guacamole.

T, who eats avocados with reckless abandon, tells me: "Oh, I don't like squacamole."

Boys, boys, boys

Buddance: "AndrewAndrew Bobandrew, Bananafana Fofandrew, Me, My, Momandrew, Annnnnnnndrew."

T: "Annoying."

**************

Littlest boy sucks his toes like it is his job now. So cute, and the noises that go with the toe sucking are priceless. He also has FOUR teeth, and started teething at four and a half months. Crazy!

**************

The older boys love to baptize Daddy during their bath.
"In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit..." So sweet.

***************

T is constantly getting the words 'saliva' and 'lava' mixed up. He talks about being a baby bird who is stuck in some hot saliva. He also likes to use the word Salava a lot.

Little bits

- Buddance was trying to play with, ahem...TAKE, some toys that T was using. T pipes up and tells Buddance he is playing with those plates and Buddance will have to wait:
"I am aggravating these right now and I am not done yet."

Yes. Well. That about sums up all of our playtime interactions.

- Tag Along K is now kicking in the bathtub all by himself and giggling, which can only mean he will be starting preschool next week, because that's how fast it feels it went with Buddance.

- It always makes me feel like I am doing something right when one of my older boys shouts up the stairs at the top of his lungs to his brother:
"Please come and play with me, I love you!"
